Fall is upon us, and you know what that means?? Fall vegetables like pumpkin! Yum I wait all year for pumpkin and can't wait to make things like pumpkin bread, cookies, pie, and drink lots and lots of pumpkin lattes!
My friend Amy is part of the nutrition club at school, and luckily she invited me to come with them to miller farms (in Longmont)... and for only $12 we got to go on a tractor ride and pick up to FIVE whole bags of whatever was available to stuff in them.
I came home with only 3 1/2 bags, but that is nothing to cry about...
If you love fresh food, and digging in the dirt check it out:
It runs until November 15th
Miller Farms
| A couple potatoes |
| Just a few carrots |
| A mountain of green beans |
| A group of onions |
| A herd of sweet corn |
| A giant head of cabbage |
| And a gaggle of pie pumpkins... these 4 don't know their fate yet |
| This one already met it's match |
| Homemade pumpkin puree! |
Anyone have any ideas what I should make with all of these goodies??? I was thinking pumpkin bread, pumpkin cookies, probably the traditional pumpkin pie, carrot cake, blue cheese coleslaw...
Who knows, with all this loot I have now the possibilities are endless!
